Established In 1987
Let’s See Our Progress

The Foundation Begins
Parker Teel and Peter Gundlach founded their first construction company, driven by a shared vision to build quality projects and establish a strong reputation in the industry. Their partnership laid the foundation for what would grow into a highly respected construction business.

Pre-Incorporated
After years of collaboration, Parker Teel decided to strike out on his own. He formed PTCC (Parker Teel Construction Company) as the sole proprietor, building on his extensive experience and deep industry knowledge. The decision marked the beginning of Parker’s independent journey in the construction world.

Growth and Expansion
In 1985, Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. awarded Parker Teel Construction Company (PTCC) the demolition and structural portions of the Tysons Corner Mall redevelopment. This project involved converting the lower-level truck driveway and storage area into tenant spaces. Following the successful conversion, PTCC was awarded over a dozen tenant build-outs, establishing a long-term partnership with Tysons Corner Mall. Since then, TEEL has remained a preferred contractor on the property, continuing to contribute to its ongoing development.

PTCC Incorporates to TEEL Construction
On December 2nd, PTCC incorporated to TEEL Construction, Inc. and moved into a new office space at 768 Walker Road in Great Falls, VA. The company would be headquartered there for the next 28 years.

Building Strong Relationships
TEEL Construction continued to expand, focusing on strengthening relationships with clients and subcontractors. The company earned a solid reputation for consistently delivering projects on time and within budget, which positioned it to take on larger, more complex projects in the years ahead.

Diversifying Our Portfolio
In 1995, TEEL Construction expanded into new sectors, including high-end retail and hospitality. The company took on landmark projects that showcased its versatility and reinforced its reputation as a trusted partner in the construction industry. As the team grew, TEEL Construction continued to solidify its presence in the market and broaden its range of expertise.

New Markets and Technology
TEEL Construction ventured into new geographic markets, expanding beyond the immediate region. The company began working on significant projects at the IAD, gaining valuable experience in large-scale, high-visibility projects. Under Parker’s leadership, TEEL embraced technology and innovation, staying ahead of industry trends, improving operational efficiency, and delivering high-quality results on every project.

Strong Brand and Growing Team
TEEL Construction’s reputation continued to solidify as it completed high-profile projects across multiple sectors. The company invested heavily in its team, ensuring that quality and professionalism remained at the core of its operations. In June, TEEL was awarded the Foxchase Shopping Center redevelopment for Washington Real Estate Investment Trust, marking a significant milestone. At the time, it was TEEL’s largest project, valued just under $10M as of December 2017. This project further showcased the company’s ability to handle complex, large-scale developments and reinforced its standing as a trusted contractor in the industry.

Expanding Reach and Strengthening Partnerships
TEEL Construction went international with the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt addition and renovation in Northwest, DC, marking its first project on sovereign soil. The company also began its national partnership with Paper Source, completing 15 projects along the East Coast over the next four years. During the recession, Kaplan accounted for nearly 75% of TEEL’s book, allowing the company to continue hiring while many competitors laid off staff. Additionally, TEEL marked its first airport restaurant with Vino Volo at Dulles International Airport and was awarded the Circa Clarendon restaurant project in Arlington, VA.

Expansion & Milestones
TEEL secured over 100 projects in FY 2011, including Morgan Stanley (MSSB), leading to 30+ projects valued at $7M. The company expanded into high-end retail with Zadig & Voltaire in Aventura, FL, later completing its Canadian rollout. Work with Lord & Taylor set the stage for Saks Off 5th in 2016. TEEL completed Smashburger’s national roll-out and ALDI’s first facade project, eventually handling 90+ ALDI projects worth over $60M. At Tysons Corner Center, TEEL completed Phase I Common Corridor Renovation, followed by Phase III two years later. Major milestones included seven concurrent airport restaurant projects, TEEL’s first ground-up ALDI, and the opening of the new Fairfax headquarters to support rapid growth. Parker was recognized as CBN Businessman of the Year, and the company surpassed $35M in revenue by August of that year.

Leadership & Continued Growth
TEEL broadened its reach with a Midtown Manhattan office, an expanding workforce, and major retail and commercial projects. A leadership transition saw Parker Teel become CEO and Spencer Teel named President, guiding the company’s continued success. The company deepened relationships with national brands like ALDI, LIDL, and KinderCare, while also entering new sectors, including country clubs and funeral homes. The rollout of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) streamlined operations, and the company’s first Trade Partner Appreciation Day (TPAD) reinforced its commitment to collaboration. TEEL’s financial strength allowed it to navigate industry challenges, increase bonding capacity, and secure larger, more complex projects.
